In this two party system both parties make valid points, and both parties have sin.  Some argue that this is not an election, but rather an auction.  Who has the biggest bank book?

So who would be a good Christian candidate for president?  Since we have no real Christians leading the primary process, there probably is none.  Sorry, I can’t count Trump when his Presbyterian church ordains gays.  He brags about his fornication and affairs while not even expecting forgiveness for his sins:

“At the Family Leadership Summit in Ames, Iowa.Frank Luntz asked Trump whether he has ever asked God for forgiveness for his actions.  “I am not sure I have. I just go on and try to do a better job from there. I don’t think so,” he said. “I think if I do something wrong, I think, I just try and make it right. I don’t bring God into that picture. I don’t.”   Eugene Scott, CNN Sat July 18, 2015

I don’t remember any shining Christian testimony coming from the Clintons either.  Perhaps the E-Mail axe (FBI) will fall on Hilary before the elections anyway.  There remains a secular Jew who sets conservatives into a panic though.  He is as viable as any other candidate from my Christian perspective.  You may not want to hear my scriptures on that point, but they are just as real as the Republicans favorite scriptural points.  Do we get to pick and chose?  All have sinned.

So what should a Christian do about all this?  Remember who is in charge.  Re-read the book of Esther and remember that god is running the show, not Haman.  The end times are bad for non-Christians, and they keep getting worse.  Don’t expect God to change his word to make you comfortable.  Change your plans to make others comfortable.  Share the gospel.  Real Christians are too scarce to win votes, but we have a huge influence through spiritual warfare.

Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, AND FEW THERE BE THAT FIND IT.  Matthew 7:14

NO, I do NOT mean that you should yell and point fingers at sinners.  That is defined as railing and it will lock you out of heaven.  No, it is time for all of us to become missionaries.  Don’t worry, you don’t have to travel, the mission is coming to you.

But now I have written unto you not to keep company, if any man THAT IS CALLED A BROTHER be a fornicator (Mr. Trump?), or covetous, or an idolater, OR A RAILER (Mr. Trump?), or a drunkard, or an extortioner; with such an one no not to eat. 1 Corinthians 5:11

So you can’t loudly oppose sinners, but you can associate with sinners unless they are pretending to be Christians.  Sorry Mr. Trump, but Bernie gets my vote, he identifies as a secular Jew.!

Oh horrors, gays and transsexuals will be lurking in the bathrooms, and aliens will come to take our jobs and change the labels on our food.  More fornication will feed more abortions.  Rumors among conservatives are like someone yelling at a flock of chickens. The fear of the Lord is good, but all other fear is from hell.  FEAR NOT.

God set this in motion.  Scripture says that when men left God HE turned them over to fornication.  They really can’t change themselves and you can’t change God.  But you can introduce them to God and HE can change them.  No they don’t all want that help though.  Still, his sheep know their master’s voice, so scripture (the voice of their master) will draw the ones he has called.  But who will present the scriptural way to reach this growing number of lost souls?

Because that, when they knew God, they glorified him not as God, neither were thankful; but became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkened.  Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools,  And changed the glory of the uncorruptible God into an image made like to corruptible man, and to birds, and fourfooted beasts, and creeping things.  Wherefore GOD ALSO GAVE THEM UP TO UNCLEANNESS through the lusts of their own hearts, to dishonour their own bodies between themselves:  Who changed the truth of God into a lie, and worshipped and served the creature more than the Creator, who is blessed for ever. Amen.   Romans 1:21-25

Hmm…perhaps gays DO have a genetic problem, but guess who can fix it!

Scriptures have given us the example of Israel to consider.  The people demanded kings so God gave them good and bad examples.  Solomon shared the wisdom of God with them, then he demonstrated foolishness with his idolatrous wives.  Israel began a long slide towards the Babylonian captivity.  Aside from a respite in the time of Hezekiah, they remained locked in that slide in spite of many warnings from the prophets.  God had a plan in motion, and no one could stop it.

I am amazed at a song  (Blow a Trumpet In Zion) that declares “Great is the Army that carries out his word”.  Why do Christians celebrate the armies of Babylon destroying Israel and slaughtering their children?  Well, strangely, it was a good thing to purify an unrepentant Israel.  And it may be a good thing for Christians in our age as well.  We are outnumbered, outvoted, and going along with the world.  Christians are working with ungodly men in both political parties today.  But we have good examples to learn from in all of this.

One prisoner of war was still a child when he was taken to Babylon and given the name of a false god.  Daniel did know about another who had been a prisoner though.  Outvoted by his brothers, Joseph had become a slave in Egypt.  Even that got worse when he was accused of a sexual assault.  But Daniel knew that this convicted sex offender became the prime minister of Egypt by his faith in God.  Daniel and his companions remained faithful to God, and he too became the prime minister of Babylon.

If we see a sinful transformation of our nation, or even a military takeover, we still belong to God.  The Kingdom of God is not a political entity of borders or governments.  We who belong to God will serve him in any condition that he places us in.  Some may be called to resist sin to death as Hananiah, Azariah, and Mishael might have done in the furnace.  Similarly Daniel spent time with the Lions and with the Lion of Judah.  By sight it is bleak, but by faith this is the way of glory.

The leaders of Israel eventually won the help of the King of Persia and were restored to Jerusalem.  They lived their godly testimony in times of peril and won the favor of men.  Can we serve God in the trials of our own times?  Will we witness a liberal overthrow of our moral values?  Will there be a natural or military disaster?  Perhaps America is being identified as the modern Babylon, destined for the horrific downfall described in Revelation.  But the righteous people of God are not on the same path the world is on.  Can we live for God as Joseph and Daniel did?  If we are disturbed (or deceived) by bad presidential candidates, how will we deal with the Anti-Christ?

If thou hast run with the footmen, and they have wearied thee, then how canst thou contend with horses? and if in the land of peace, wherein thou trustedst, they wearied thee, then how wilt thou do in the swelling of Jordan?  Jeremiah 12:5

Whatever is in the future is the plan of God.  We will be blessed to be entrusted to do his will in these times.  We get all excited about the simulated adventures proposed by Hollywood, but are we prepared to be real heroes in our lifetime?  We see movies that offer pretend magic or false gods, and yet fail to appreciate real prophets, scriptures, and a living God.

Who cares who wins the election, or the wars around us?  We have one life to pass the entrance exam to heaven, and that should not be boring.  However there will be challenges, as many will fall away.  Prayer to the father, scripture knowledge of Jesus, and our Christian fellowship is the trinity balance of wisdom.
